Alea Jorida Alpoc – Real Estate Virtual Assistant

Hi, I am Alea. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Development Communication from Benguet State University in La Trinidad, Benguet, in 2016.

I finished my degree thinking I would be working in one of the media channels but life led me here.  I would like to be able to work from home to spend more time with my family. I enjoy eating meals and going on coffee dates with my family and friends. To achieve work-life balance, I spend quality time with family and friends.

After 3 months of graduating, I got my first job as an English Tutor.  I was unsure at first, if I could really do a good job and assist the students learn and improve their English skills. However, with the proper training, support, and determination I was able to find the joy and confidence to continue doing the job. As I help the students, I am also improving my English and communication skills.

After working as an English teacher, I became a Real Estate Virtual Assistant for an office-based company that provides services to clients from Australia and New Zealand. I was given the opportunity to work with generous clients, working on some of their day-to-day tasks such as property management, database management and other task as needed, all while improving my time management, detail-oriented and deadline-meeting skills.

Then came an opportunity to broaden my knowledge and experience. It was a risk to leave my position as a Virtual Assistant that I had grown to love and had grown accustomed to but I took the challenge and accepted the offer.  I took on the Procurement Administrative Assistant post, demonstrating my adaptability, which helped me get through this major adjustment.  I needed to be more resourceful to complete all of the assigned responsibilities and contribute to our group’s success because, apart from virtual to physical procedures, there is a cultural difference between government agencies and private companies.

I understand that this remote setup is risky and it requires a lot of trust and confidence to work with people that you barely know but I can assure you that I will always fulfill my commitments with accountability and integrity. Throughout my work experience, I’ve learned that willingness to communicate, learn and improve, adapting to changes, building trust and respect helps foster a healthy long-term relationship with your clients and colleagues.

I am looking forward for us to grow and enjoy life as we work together.
