Betsy Rose Ensom – Virtual Assistant, Sales Consultant
Hi everyone, my name is Betsy Rose Ensomo, you can call me Betsy. I am a graduate of AB Mass Communication from Adamson University. I took up Mass Communication because I have always dreamt of being a journalist or at least being part of the media industry. When I graduated, it was the boom era of BPO companies here in the Philippines. I tried applying for a Television company at that time but unfortunately, their offer salary was way below my expectation. So I tried applying to one of the finest BPO companies here in the Philippines which is Teletech. It was my first try to apply for a professional job and luckily was hired right there and then, I was offered a good salary and benefits. That’s when my journey in the call centre industry started. I had a very nice experience as I love talking to people, even different nationalities as when I get to know them over the phone, I learn new things and learn some lessons along the way.
It took me more or less 5 years before I decided to venture to a new path. I told to myself that I needed some growth and a new environment, so I tried to apply for job opportunities abroad. I took a flight to Singapore as a tourist, then luckily within a week, was able to secure a job with Celebrity Fitness as their Membership Consultant. I stayed there for almost 2 years and decided to come back to Manila for personal reasons.
After settling my issues at that time, I again decided to try my luck to apply to work abroad. I went from one agency to another. Then I came across CDK International, and they had a job opening in Dubai. I applied and was hired to work with Fitness First Middle East as a Membership Sales Consultant. Within a year of working as a newbie, I was promoted to Senior Membership Sales and Retention Consultant for their new Xfit club. I had fun, enjoyed the entire UAE and decided to come home after 3 years.
A couple of years later, the pandemic happened. It was then that I heard of Virtual Assistant. I created an account on Upwork and applied for more or less 20 job postings. I was hired by a client who has his own digital marketing company as an appointment setter. And the rest of my freelancing is history.
Through all my years of working for more than a decade in the Sales and Customer Service industry, I now have the skills and experience needed for most industries nowadays. I strongly believe that having a positive attitude and way above-average communication skills is an advantage for the company. That being said, I believe I can be a valuable member and can be an asset to deliver results and excellent service to your customer or prospect.
