Charlotte Magallanes – Customer Service Representative

Hi there! I’m Charlotte Magallanes, a 25-year-old undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science. I work in Customer Service, a field that has given me the opportunity to work with diverse clients, improve my technical and communication skills, and enhance my ability to multitask. Over the years, I have learned that good communication and Empathy skills combined with problem-solving abilities are essential to establishing a long-term relationship with customers, and I am eager to bring these lessons into future roles.

I previously worked as a Customer Service Representative at VXI Global Solutions and Concentrix. In these roles, I focused on helping customers process orders, make payments, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage their services, including reconnections and disconnections. This experience has allowed me to build a solid foundation in customer interaction, teaching me how to address their concerns effectively and in a timely manner. Balancing so many different tasks, whether receiving calls, emailing people back, or troubleshooting with the techs, has helped me be able to multitask, so I’m proud to say that I make each customer feel like they are heard and supported.

I ended my internship with Pressreader PH in May 2019. I obtained an IT certificate during my stay there. That experience would not only introduce me to the technical side of the operation but gave me the troubleshooting skills I utilise afterward, even to assist customers who need help with inquiries related to technologies. Whether to try fixing software issues or assist customers with any sort of tech-related inquiries, it becomes an asset in your everyday work.

Although I overall like my current position, the experiences of friends have inspired me in the Virtual Assistant industry, showing how working from home helps them to meet work-life balance better. Because it’s flexible, I found this quite attractive and would like to consider opportunities where I can work from home and still continue to grow professionally. I believe that my technical skills paired with my customer service experience would make me a sound candidate for the position of Virtual Assistant.

In my free time, I volunteer with my church’s social media communication team. I work on key events that happen live and see that they are carried out seamlessly, ensuring that our community knows everything by social media updates on time. This is an excellent way to be connected with my community while at the same time applying technical skills in meaningful ways.

I eagerly look forward to learning something new every day, testing myself in my ability to act, and always thinking, as my career advances. This is with hope that this benefits not only my professional expertise but also my development as a whole. In the role I would pursue, I wish to apply my skills while developing knowledge areas both in the tech and customer service industries.
