Daisy Mae Canoy – General Virtual Assistant
I’m Daisy, a 26-year-old graduate of Tourism Management, honoured to have completed my degree as Cum Laude. I was a very competitive student way back then. I joined campus journalism and was able to represent our city in the national level year 2014. I graduated as 2nd honourable mention in my tertiary level.
From an early age, I’ve been passionate about building connections with people, which naturally led me to a career in customer service. My academic success reflects my dedication and work ethic, qualities that have continued to shape my professional journey.
It started when I used to participate in the summer job program provided by our city government where I was tasked mostly to do the reception duties. I welcomed, greet and directed visitors as soon as they enter to our department. I did my on-the-job training in the call center located in Pampanga, Philippines, where I started to build my confidence talking to international customers.
During my studies in college, I was a proud city government scholar, which required me to maintain a high academic standard throughout. This experience taught me discipline, hard work, and perseverance. These are the qualities that have guided me in both my academic and professional life.
After graduating, I spent over 6 years working in the salon industry in Dubai, UAE, where I developed strong skills in client relations, administrative support, and sales. I managed service bookings, product orderings, and audits, always striving to create seamless, efficient operations. I took on the responsibility of reducing inventory backlogs, successfully cutting them from 100K AED to 6K AED, which became one of my proudest accomplishments.
With this experience, I developed a strong confidence in sales, consistently achieving my monthly targets. Customers often appreciated the way I explained offers and products, and I found it easy to build trust and persuade them to buy. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job was receiving compliments not just for my knowledge but also for being smiling, approachable person.
I’m now transitioning into freelancing, eager to apply my skills in a more flexible environment while continuing to grow and learn. With a strong foundation in customer service, scheduling, and communication, I’m ready to embrace new challenges and make a positive impact wherever I go.
Being kind and helpful is more than just part my job, it’s a personal value that drives everything I do. I’m eager to bring that same energy into the next chapter of my career.
