Dranreb Dominice – Bookkeeping

dranreb-dominice-vaI’m Dranreb, but feel free to call me Reb. I’m a Quickbooks and Xero Certified ProAdvisor. I received my accounting degree from the University of Mindanao. A few years ago, I never would have envisioned or considered myself as someone who worked from home. But sometimes life presents you with a surprise and everything just happens. I had no idea remote working could be so rewarding, stress-free, and fun.

I began my career as a Bookkeeper for a retail store, working with customers, accounts, invoices, financial reports, and tax filing. Then I moved on to another company as an all-around administrative assistant, where I was in charge of preparing regular reports on expenses and office budgets, as well as bookkeeping, maintenance, and updating company databases. Then an
opportunity to work remotely presented itself. It was not an obvious choice because this is a new environment with many uncertainties, but I took the risk and chose to work from home after the pandemic began in 2020.

It surprised me how quickly I was able to adjust to the new setting. My experience was gained through client service, website back-end upkeep, automation of marketing emails and processes, bookkeeping and payroll, reporting, scheduling, developing landing pages, and creating simple graphics in Canva. I pick things up quickly and can do multiple jobs at the same time. I can work well on my own or in a group. Since I want to create a positive work environment and work culture for the team, I find it rewarding to pass along my knowledge to my coworkers. I make a great virtual assistant because I am conscientious in my work, goal-oriented, attentive to details, resourceful, and well-equipped with a variety of skills and expertise.

dranreb-dominice-vaI’ve made the deliberate choice that I will never work in an office again. Working from home has increased my opportunities. Opportunities to grow, learn, earn, inspire, and assist others like me who want to focus on their loved ones and families while maintaining a work-life balance. I will be eternally grateful that such a thing as a “Virtual Assistant” exists. I believe this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Success over time depends on having a positive attitude, continually putting up your best effort, and accepting responsibility for your work in all respects. It also depends on understanding the company’s culture and surroundings. Nothing is impossible if you put your all into it, comprehend, ask for help when you need it, and take responsibility for your work.

My job goal is to advance, and along the way, I want to increase my knowledge and abilities in order to become a better person and use them in both my professional and personal lives.
