Dylanne Faye Abear – Administrative Assistant
Hello, my name is Dylanne Faye Abear, feel free to call me Dee. I am a mother of an amazing baby boy. I pursued a degree in Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at Cebu Doctors University. As much as I desired to finish my degree, God rewarded me with an unexpected blessing – becoming a mother. I started my career as an online ESL teacher and have enjoyed teaching students of different ethnicities for 3 years. It was not until the pandemic that I chose to challenge myself and join the corporate world. I joined the BPO industry and worked as a customer service representative for 2 years, this experience was where I gained valuable skills, experiences, and knowledge about the ins and outs of the corporate world. I knew I always had a passion for helping others and contributing to a team so I decided to transition to the VA industry also because I wanted a career that would allow me to work from home, and give me flexibility so that I would be able to spend more time with my son. It was not easy at first, the VA industry is a survival of the fittest I knew that there were existing virtual assistants who had way more experience than me. But I did not give up, my son was my motivation to keep on going.
With God’s grace, I landed my first job as a virtual assistant in 2022. I was grateful to be working from home, spending more time with my son, and having time to focus on my growth. When I became a virtual assistant, my goal was always to upskill and improve my professional growth. I worked on gaining new skills and experiences through administrative support, customer service, email & calendar management, social media management, appointment setting, project management, and data entry. I always get asked what my niche is and I never have an answer. The reason is that I enjoy being a jack of all trades, working on different tasks, and learning something new as I accept opportunities.
Whenever I meet new clients, I always make sure to let them know that my goal as their assistant is to help them achieve flexibility and comfort and to trust me to help them and their business. My goal is to always exceed client expectations and this is what sets me apart from other virtual assistants. I have always been an achiever, whether it be in academics, life, and work.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to work in different industries, providing exceptional administrative support to different businesses and working closely with CEOs. These experiences have honed my skills to become a better virtual assistant every day. I feel satisfied when I can deliver my best and I always enjoy a challenge!
I know I am far from perfect, and that is why I am constantly aiming to improve myself personally and professionally.
