Edel Beattie – Office Administrator

edel-beattie-casualHi, I’m Edel.

I’m a highly motivated go-getter and problem solver! I believe anything can be achieved when there is passion and consistency.

I moved to Sydney from Ireland in 2011 and in that time, I gained over 9 years’ experience in administration and E-commerce.

In Ireland I worked as an account manager for a kitchen wholesaler. The company was fantastic and gave me so many opportunities to learn and develop my relationship management skills. My curiosity and love for travel then talked me into exploring the land down under – lo and behold, I was given a wonderful job opportunity that led me to a career in retail buying and E-commerce. I felt I had found my passion in life and met so many wonderful people and lifelong friends along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire process from building product ranges to the nitty gritty sales and campaign analysis.

In 2015, I finished up work to have my first daughter. It was a turning point in my life and my priorities shifted entirely. Some months into parenthood, I decided I wanted flexibility in a job so I could spend more time with my daughter. After returning from an extended trip to Ireland in 2016-2017 I then began a role as a part-time Office Administrator. I was accountable for most of the general administration including accounts, procurement, website updates and reporting. It was a small company which meant I got to experience a broad range of responsibilities. I was able to use my experience to implement more edel-beattie-bondingefficient processes for many of the day-to-day tasks.

I left the role in July 2018 to have my second daughter. At this time, I developed an interest in health and commenced a Bachelor of Health Science (Public Health). I’m continuing to study part-time and aim to utilise my skills through Virtual Assistant work.

My work and study experience combined has enabled me to get good at prioritising. I am a big advocate for the 80/20 rule and the need to focus on the most important tasks first, one at a time. I have also used some effective team project platforms such as Monday.com and Teamwork.

How I spend my spare time has certainly changed since becoming a mum. I value the time with my family and enjoy catching up with friends. I also love to travel when I can, read books that help me grow, play tennis and run while I listen to podcasts.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story! I look forward to working with you and helping you to achieve your goals.
