Elezabhet Berja – General Virtual Assistant

Hi, I am Elezabhet Berja, but my family and friends call me Bhet. I am a wife. I got married two years ago, but have not been blessed with a child yet. I studied a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Gen. Santos Foundation College Inc. for a year, but due to financial problems, I decided to work instead of continuing my studies. Life wasn’t easy for me, but I knew I didn’t have the right to give up. I worked hard for years, got married, and eventually resigned from my job.

I started out working as a Saleslady in a mall here in our area, and that was my first job experience. During that time, the terms of our employment were contractual. And after six months of working at that company, I decided not to renew my contract. And tried to look for a job with a higher salary.

Fortunately, after a few months of applying, I got hired as a Branch Cashier at a Bookstore Company, where the pay was higher compared to my previous job. Being a cashier is a tough role because it really measures your character as an individual. It tests your honesty and loyalty to your job. It’s also where your credibility as a person is put to the test. At that time, I was responsible for scanning items, applying discounts, and bagging items safely for our customers. I am also the one who issues the official receipts and reports daily sales. I’ve been a cashier for four years. I work hard and always follow the company’s policies. For me, valuing my job also means valuing the company.

To make the story short, I was promoted to Store Branch Manager. My hard work truly paid off. I knew that with the promotion, my salary would increase and also my responsibilities. One of my responsibilities is to oversee branch operations, ensuring smooth workflow, efficiency, and compliance with company policies. One of my main goals was to retain customers through trust and loyalty and ensure the leverage of the branch’s revenue. After 8 years of serving the company and giving my best for the branch, I decided to settle down and resign because my husband’s place is 4 hours away from the municipality where I was assigned as a store branch manager. I loved my job so much, but I had to decide on a new chapter of my life.

I’ve been doing online selling from home as my side hustle for over two years now. Since there’s no child to take care of, I got bored and thought about looking for a job through online work-from-home opportunities. While searching on YouTube, Virtual Assistant jobs were frequently recommended, which got my interest. I watched a lot of positive content about virtual assistance, and one of the things that convinced me was that you don’t need to wear make-up, the idea of not juggling into traffic just to be on time for work, and most importantly, it will give me more time with my family. So, I decided to take intensive training to learn all the skills needed to become a Virtual Assistant.

My previous role taught me the essence of work ethic. Skills can be learned, but character cannot. Just give your best, learn through the process, and grow with responsibilities. No one starts off being great, everything is a learning process. Be prepared and positive about whatever challenges or problems may come your way because an optimistic person will definitely go far.

I am excited to showcase my skills and pursue my journey as a virtual assistant. And I am eager to learn more through the process.
