Emma Fe Royo – TSR and ESL Teacher
Hi! I am Emma Fe Royo. I am the youngest among eight children. I have very hardworking parents that raised us with so much to learn from life and to be grateful for what we have and be happy for what others may have. I am the only one in the family that was able to finish college because we are financially lacking. I was an institutional full scholar, which means I didn’t have to pay for my tuition, but I had to work for the school. In God’s grace, I graduated from college in just four years. My experience was awe-inspiring.
When I was in sixth grade, we lost our home to a devastating fire. It was traumatising. I remember, nothing was left from our house. We lived in our neighbour’s house for a week before we found a rental house that we can stay in.
My secondary and tertiary life was away from my parents. I was living with my sister who was already married and helping them out with the household chores so that they will give me money as my allowance. It was hard living away from mum. If you are a mummy’s girl, you would understand.
In my second year of high school, we received a call from a relative that my mother and my third sister who was five months pregnant that time were attacked. They almost died and we were devastated. My sister had five cuts. Thankfully, the baby was okay and she recovered easily but my mum had ten cuts, it almost ended her life. It took three months for her to recover, but we are grateful because after all God never abandoned us.
My college life was a roller coaster ride. I worked six hours and studied six hours a day. After school, I went home, did some household chores then I studied and did my homework. My average sleeping time was four to six hours a day. I was busy and I loved it because I learned a lot. I also discovered my love for the arts (digital arts to be specific because until now I still don’t know how to draw with my bare hands). I was given a task to design tarpaulins, program invitations, T-shirts, flyers, brochures, and the likes. Since then, I studied and familiarised myself with Creative Design and video editing.
I use Adobe Applications such as Adobe Illustrator for logo creation, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom for photo editing and manipulation, Adobe InDesign for Brochure, flyers, program invitation and the likes, Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects for Video Editing. I can promise you that I will assist you in your task in time with quality work.
My first job after college was with the BPO industry. I worked as a Technical Support Representative for a year. Then, I decided to have a family. While at home, I looked for ways on how I can earn money. I applied as an Online English Teacher for Chinese learners and got hired. That was my job for nine months.
In conclusion, my past may be challenging, but it made me the person I am today and so I am grateful.
