Eric John Generoso – Store Manager
My name is Eric John Generoso. My family and friends call me Ejan or Koy. I was born in Iloilo and was raised in Negros Occidental, Philippines. I studied Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. I have been married for seven years and was blessed with two kids.
I come from a broken family. My mother left us when I was just six years old. I have a twin brother and a younger sister and we were raised by our father all by himself. Growing up in a broken family doesn’t mean we will stop there. I always keep in mind to always be positive. Like what the saying goes, “The show must go on”. I always carry this positivity to help me survive whatever life has to offer.
In my free time, I enjoy watching classic movies, especially classic love stories, western movies, documentaries and narratives. Listening to Arabic love songs also interests me. Also, I enjoy trekking, and wandering river valleys and mountains. I also find it interesting to go inside old cemeteries. My friends think I am weird but whenever we pass by a cemetery, I have this feeling that I must see it. Sounds strange but it is something that intrigues me.
However, I also do have some fears. Reptiles are my biggest fear. Anything slimy that crawls is not my thing. The thought of encountering such makes me fearful or uneasy. My biggest fear though to be left alone without my family and those people who are dear to me. The idea of separation is something I fear the most.
Despite the fears I have, I always hold on to hope. My biggest dream is to live a peaceful, simple, safe and secure life in a rural area. Living in a native house surrounded by a garden full of vegetables and breathing fresh air. Imagining my life with my family waking up every day feeling safe and secure is the happiest.
After college, I landed a job at a mall in the city, which is my main goal after finishing college. As a Sales Utility Clerk, I was exposed to customer service right from the start. A path I continued for several years. In 2012, an opportunity came to work abroad. I eagerly seized it, embarking on a journey to a place completely unfamiliar to me. Upon arriving in Oman, the people, religion, traditions, culture, food, everything felt new. It took nearly a month before I secured a position at a food and beverage company, marking a significant chapter in my career life.
From starting as a barista, I climbed swiftly, earning promotions to a higher position within the company in a short span of time. Through this journey, I learned the value of patience, dedication and focus that became instrumental in my growth. Discovering my skills along the way, I honed my expertise in various aspects in our daily operations. By mastering customer service, stock management, inventory control and report preparation, I ensured a deep understanding of our operational flow, contributing significantly to the company’s success.
With dedication and perseverance, I was able to push myself to where I stand now. I keep inspiring myself with a continuous drive to discover new things that can further enhance both myself and my work. I believe, embracing this mindset of constant growth and learning, undoubtedly will lead me to even greater heights of my journey.
Life is full of challenges. Pushing myself through with a positive mindset and always believe in myself. With the support system I get from my family and friends I feel like I am making my life full of hopes and dreams. Making sure I always cherish every moment with them.
