Future Fetoai – Sales Assistant

Hi, my name is Future Fetoai.

I was raised in New Zealand until I was 15 when my mother moved us to Australia. I graduated High School in Australia and decided to take a gap year because I didn’t know what I wanted to do yet or what career path I wanted to take. That gap year was pivotal in gaining the insight and knowledge I have today. I decided after that year that I wasn’t going back to University and that I would learn to become a valuable and hardworking employee of any corporation I’m a part of and gain as much work experience as I can.

Upon leaving High School, I gained my first professional full-time role in a financial call centre managing customer calls, evaluating their financial positions, providing solutions, and hitting targets and KPIs. Within a few months, I became the Corporate Services Officer for the company. I managed all the front-end administration tasks including email and calendar management, proficiency in Microsoft applications, navigating the software systems, executive support, and organizing work events.

Fast-forward to 2020 when covid hit, I decided it was time for some change. I opened up my own small clothing business with money I saved from my full-time job and took a part-time job as a sales associate within a retail store. These valuable experiences assisted me in gaining many new skills but most importantly, the skills of managing overall business operations, organization, sales, networking, content creation and creating an exceptional experience for any customer that I crossed paths with. I became exactly what I planned, a valuable, hard-working employee who could easily work across every department within our store and whom every manager knew they could rely on.

In May 2023, after a trip back to my homeland, I decided to pack up my life in Australia to come back to the home that I grew up in, to take care of my Grandma on a part-time basis. Seeing that she was now at an age where her finances were becoming too overwhelming for her to manage, I chose to help take the mental load off. So now, I work part-time remotely, organizing my nana’s weekly activities, managing her bills and expenses, and taking calls regularly from her bank, insurance, and doctors to keep the complex side of her life in order. In a way, you could say I am her “virtual” assistant. Working remotely for me, means that I can make the best out of my situation while still leveraging the skills that I gained over the years.

I aim to continue being a valuable, hard-worker, gain as much experience as I can, and contribute my skills towards the growth and success of anything I am a part of.
