Geraldine Navea – Customer and Technical Support
My name is Geraldine. You can call me Gie. I am 46yrs old, happily married and a mother of 2 brilliant children who are both in college. I have been working from home since 2013 and during my free time I would binge watch a Drama or documentary series and movies on Netflix and other streaming platforms.
I have built my career in technical and customer support, with 16 years of experience as a Technical Support Specialist and more recently as a Customer Support Specialist in Billing for an Australian company.
A few years ago, I never imagined myself working from home. I was used to the structured environment of an office, collaborating with teams, and assisting customers face-to-face or over the phone. But life has a way of presenting new opportunities, and when I transitioned to remote work, I realized how fulfilling and rewarding it could be.
I started my career providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring customers had a seamless experience with their products and services. Over time, I developed strong problem-solving skills, patience, and a customer-first mindset. My role in billing support further expanded my knowledge in handling financial inquiries, resolving disputes, and assisting clients with their accounts.
In addition to my support roles, I pursued my passion for events management as a freelancer, organizing corporate and special events such as company anniversaries, international beauty pageants, and awarding ceremonies. This field has sharpened my skills in coordination, multitasking, and working under pressure.
Surprisingly, transitioning to remote work didn’t take long for me to adapt. I learned to manage my time efficiently, work independently, and stay productive without direct supervision. I thrive in a fast-paced environment, whether working solo or collaborating with a team. I am resourceful, detail-oriented, and always eager to learn new skills that enhance my performance.
Understanding a company’s culture and values is important to me. I believe that having a good attitude, taking accountability for your work, and giving your best effort are key to success. No challenge is too difficult when you remain committed, ask questions when needed, and take responsibility for delivering results.
Working from home has given me the flexibility to balance my professional, family and personal life while still excelling in my career. I aim to continue growing, learning new skills, and making meaningful contributions to every role I take on.
