Gilianne Salgado – General Virtual Assistant

Hi, I’m Gilianne Salgado, and you can call me Gil. I’m from the Philippines and an only child who is deeply family-oriented. I’ve always been a bit of a go-getter, but what surprises most people is that I was a working student before, and now I’m a proud degree holder in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing. Back then, I used to keep my job a secret from my parents, just so I could surprise them once I was hired or had completed a project. It was my little way of showing them that I’m independent and resourceful, balancing both studies and work. Today, I apply that same dedication to my career, continuously striving to improve and excel.

I also have a deep love for my 10 cats, each with their own unique colour and personality. They are my joy, comfort, and a big part of my daily life. Caring for them has taught me patience, attention to detail, and adaptability—qualities that translate well into my work-from-home life. Like managing my cats, remote work requires a mix of focus, flexibility, and dedication. It also allows me to spend more time with my family, a big reason I pursued this path. The ability to be close to those who matter while still growing professionally has made working from home a perfect fit for me.

Over the years, I’ve gained valuable experience in administrative roles, financial planning, customer relationship management, and virtual assistance, including working as a VA for a physical therapy clinic in New York. I’ve developed key skills in project management, scheduling, marketing, and more. I’m proficient in tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and CRMs such as WebPT and PluggedIn. What sets me apart is my strong commitment to excellence and my problem-solving ability. I always aim to produce high-quality work, continuously seeking ways to improve and find creative solutions. My passion for learning and growing drives me to go beyond basic requirements, ensuring every task I handle exceeds expectations. I’m excited about the future and look forward to advancing in my career while maintaining the balance between work and family that I value so much.

In addition to my work experience, I’m dedicated to personal growth and continuous learning. I believe that staying current and always improving is essential for success. I actively seek out new learning opportunities, whether through courses, self-study, or hands-on experience. This approach keeps me flexible and prepared to face new challenges.
