Giorgina Louise Ting – Administrative Assistant

Hello, my name is Giorgina Louise Ting, but you may call me Gia. I received my nursing degree from La Consolacion College in Manila, Philippines. Right after graduation, I decided to go and live in a new city to broaden my horizons and advance my profession overseas. That is how I landed in Dubai and commenced my professional career in 2012.

Moving and living in a completely different city other than my hometown, which I had known my entire life, could be both challenging and rewarding. I began my career as an administrative officer with Monte Carlo Stars, where I dealt with clients, accounts, investments, filing, and paperwork. Then a chance to work for a larger organisation presented itself. It was not an easy decision because this is a new environment with many unknown aspects, but I followed my gut and opted to seize the opportunity for growth.

Fortunately, it did not take long for me to adjust to an unfamiliar setting. I gained significant experience by providing maintenance assistance, planning staff meetings and scheduling appointments, flow and operation, keeping the office calendar, finance, and drafting memos, letters, invoices, receipts, spreadsheets, and other reports as needed. I learn quickly and can do several functions inside the firm. I am capable of working both independently and as part of a collective. I find it gratifying to teach my colleagues what I know, as I want to create a positive work atmosphere and culture for the team. I am confident to assert that it makes me an excellent Virtual Assistant because I am dedicated to my job, goal-oriented, detail-oriented, resourceful, and equipped with many kinds of abilities and expertise.

Obtaining a good grasp of the company’s culture has been increasingly vital over the years, as well as maintaining a positive attitude and continually delivering your best and being accountable for your job in all aspects. When you give your best, no challenge is too difficult to solve – understand, ask questions when necessary, and be accountable to deliver.

I am an advocate of work-life balance. Working from home is not the same as working in an office, but I know that it is the greatest setting for me and my family. Aside from being able to provide for my family, I feel that time is a vital aspect I can also give them, and I can supply all of this by working from home. I want to advance in my profession and gain new skills and information along the road in order to better myself and apply them to both my job and my life.
