Overview
Ike Plaza – Graphic Designer
My journey into the creative field has been a mix of passion, hard work, and continuous learning. Ever since I was young, I’ve been drawn to art and design. I loved sketching and exploring different ways to visually express ideas, and that passion eventually led me to pursue a career in graphic design.
My professional journey started as a Senior Graphic Designer at Linked Helpers, where I learned the foundations of branding and digital marketing. I developed a strong understanding of how good design can shape a brand’s identity and communicate its message effectively. As I gained more experience, I began specialising in e-commerce design, particularly in roles with companies like Versedlook, Lunge Marketing, and My Amazon Guy. These roles were instrumental in teaching me the ins and outs of designing for e-commerce platforms like Amazon. I focused on creating product listings, lifestyle images, and ads that didn’t just look great but also aligned with marketing goals and improved sales.
One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been mentoring and training other creatives. I’ve worked as a team leader and trainer, sharing my knowledge and guiding others to grow in their roles. This experience taught me the importance of teamwork and how to bring out the best in others. It also deepened my own skills, as teaching often requires you to understand concepts at a higher level.
I believe that to stay relevant in any creative industry, you need to have a growth mindset. That’s why I’m constantly learning new tools and techniques to improve my work. For example, I’ve recently been exploring Adobe Firefly, an AI-driven design tool, which has opened up new ways for me to experiment and create. It’s exciting to see how technology continues to push the boundaries of what we can do as designers.
What I enjoy most about my work is collaborating with clients. I make it a point to really listen to their ideas and understand their goals. For me, design isn’t just about making things look good; it’s about creating something that connects with people and drives results.
Outside of work, I like exploring video editing and motion graphics, which keep me inspired and expand my creative skills. Moving forward, I’m looking for opportunities where I can use my experience and creativity to contribute to a dynamic team, continue learning, and make a real impact through my work.
