Jan-April Occeña – Financial Consultant

Hi!, I am Jan-April Occeña, but everybody calls me April for short. I am an aspiring Virtual Assistant who aims to broaden her knowledge and experiences in the said field. I am a graduate of Assumption College with a degree in Media Production back in 2019, and ever since then, have been finding the calling I want to pursue in my career life.

I have worked through various organisations and companies aiming to fulfil not just personal needs but most definitely as a professional. Started as a Sales Representative for a pharmaceutical company and later on became a Sales and Leasing Assistant for a real estate company in Makati Cty. During those times, I had the pleasure of releasing my creativity as an Events Coordinator part-time with the said company. After graduating college, I had the chance to work for my Mother’s own company as a Marketing Associate and help with the buying and selling of construction materials. I was also privileged enough to have and work on my own business as an online seller, catering to the fashion industry which I am very fond of. Unfortunately, It did not work out for me as business was stagnant and lacked focus. I eventually had the privilege of working for an LA-based Media Company as a Content Writer and Contributor using WordPress and tools such as Slack and eventually Zoom. After the company closed down, I was able to find work as a Financial Consultant in one of the best insurance companies in the country.

These transitions from different and various careers have made me very adaptable and self-driven in aiming for success in my endeavours. I never knew my capabilities until I tried and carried out these opportunities in my life and it helped me grow as a person. I admit, that I am not perfect and will never be, but I am proud of what and where I have come from to be able to confidently assure that having that success and opportunity is just within reach. I am still a newbie to the world. I am still learning to adapt and learn from mistakes and eventually, this is what pushes me to that success. I love learning new things and having new opportunities because I believe this is what helps me grow and pushes me to do more of what is expected of me. I love a challenge as well. I love challenging myself and giving what I can to support and help my client with their needs.

I aim to pursue my goals by being financially successful through hard work and dedication. This has been my motivation to do the things I love in work and more.
