Jareza Aaliyah Arizala – Customer Service Representative
Hi, I’m Jareza Aaliyah Arizala, and you can call me Jare. I am a mum of a cute little princess, with a loving and supportive partner. I graduated with an accountancy, business, and management degree in senior high school and also a Bachelor of Science in Psychology undergraduate. Looking back, I never imagined myself creating a small family while balancing working from home, getting chores done in the house, and taking care of my family. I never realised how working from home creates a significant impact in my life until I had my own family. Life can be really so unpredictable; that’s why working from home was the best choice I ever had.
I had my first work experience in customer service in a U.S.-based company, wherein I assisted and supported hard-of-hearing people by transcribing captions into their telephone screens. After a few months, we were deployed to work at home permanently, which made me feel relieved and excited because I could finally avoid long traffic and hassle of commuting just to get to work.
During the time when I started working remotely, I sometimes found myself feeling lonely since I was also living independently. However, as time goes by, I find myself quickly adapting to the situation, enjoying the loneliness because I am able to focus on myself and my mental health, and I am also able to do things that I’ve never done before because I am now much more in control of my time. I became more productive and creative, especially when it comes to learning new things and skills. I also made sure to use the time that I finally have as an opportunity to improve the areas that need more attention and improvement.
Over the years, working remotely in my first-ever workplace, sadly enough, the account was going to be dissolved, and the thought of changing environments really made me feel nervous and scared. But to my surprise, the second I had my second work experience, which is a remote setup also, it pulled me out of my comfort zone, and I was able to experience much more, and my skills have improved drastically. In my healthcare field of work, I have been assisting providers on the line, addressing their concerns, and making sure that I go an extra mile for them. I also work in the back office by processing authorisation requests via fax, making sure to get it done accurately in order to not delay our patients treatment or medications.
And now, wanting to transition from working in a corporate job to being a virtual assistant has been my dream. So during the years that I was finally able to have much more control over my time, I utilised that opportunity and researched what a virtual assistant should be possessing. And I found myself exploring my experiences, my skills, and what I could possibly contribute as a virtual assistant. And I reached to a conclusion that the skills and assets that I have developed throughout my Customer Service experience, is a valuable contribution to being a VA. Especially my eagerness to learn, being reliable, and helping clients win in work and also in life.
Working remotely is a game changer for all the mums out there. Especially when my little princess came into our lives. I am grateful to all the business owners, entrepreneurs, and future clients who allow us to work from home and have more quality time with our family. I couldn’t be more grateful, and the least that we can do is to make sure that we are doing our job professionally, efficiently, effectively, and accurately with quality while also going an extra mile for them.
Having a good attitude is also a personality trait that we should be utilising as a key to success. Knowing the company values and culture should be a part of our job; it is critical for us to make sure that we are adhering to company policies and rules.
I aim for a career growth while having much more time with my family, and I want the best for my future client, so I will make sure that I keep on learning and upskilling in order to meet expectations and be more proactive.
