Jenny Mae Torres – Medical Support Assistant

Greetings of peace! Hi, my name is Jenny Mae Torres, RPm. I go by Jenny for short. I am an animal lover, nature lover and book lover, all in one. I graduated as Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Psychology from the University of St. La Salle with a certification in Human Resource Management. Right after graduation, I studied for my board exam while working as an office assistant at Riverside College to earn some extra money for my studies. I was in charge of admission work, wherein I had to do data entry and be computer literate, as I had to input accurate and precise information in the student portal. Day by day I was able to face different people from all walks of life, and I was able to communicate and help them in my own little way. After my contract with them, I focused on my review and was finally able to pass the board exams and receive my RPm licence last September of 2023 at the PICC.

As I was going through several job searches with the little experience that I had as a fresh graduate, I was thankfully able to land a hybrid setup work-from-home job in the healthcare industry, which I really wanted in the first place, as I wanted clinical experience dealing with patients and doing administrative support. During my time, I had gone through several tests and assessments until I was able to land a client for myself. From then on it was sunshine and rainbows for me, or so I thought. Unfortunately, it felt like I woke up from a dream as the previous employee who was supposed to train me went by and left me behind with no proper training or even resources to get by on my end. I had to do some self-study in order to gain knowledge for the role that was given to me. With the help of an onshore manager who shared what little knowledge she had on my tasks, I was able to commence from there and establish a new routine for myself and for the clinic. Thus, I successfully managed to go over the details and processes with my replacement, and I was even able to share my own tips and tricks that I learned by myself through trial and error.

Now I am here again, open for a new challenge and seeking an opportunity for growth, all while striving for quality work and success. I may have a long way to go, but I already am way stronger and smarter than I was when I started this journey.
