Jessica Palada – Customer Service, Email and Technical Support
Hi, I’m Jessica Palada, a well-rounded virtual assistant with multiple skills from the Philippines. I’ve been in the BPO industry for 7 years and 3 years in freelancing.
Most of my work experiences are as being customer service representative, email support, technical support, sales, collections, and administrative tasks. I also assist some clients in scheduling bookings, setting appointments, and creating contracts.
I’m happily married with 1 child and very content in life, minus the expenses and bills to pay and that’s the reality. Lol!
Those are the things that motivate me to work and go on with life daily. They are also my stress reliever; I cook for them, bond with them by watching movies together, eat together, and tell random stories when everything is not falling into place.
My hobbies are cooking, playing badminton, watching movies, and cleaning the house for my fitness and health. Lol!
Working from home is convenient for me. Not worrying about how I come to work and get ahead of time, thinking about what to wear, where to eat during lunch, and getting up as early as I need to prepare to travel to work. Working from home also helps me in saving money as I do not need to get a house helper as I am getting more time to clean the house, do the laundry after working hours, wash the dishes and spend time with my family. These reasons make me value the importance of having a work-from-home job and being a freelancer.
Being a freelancer was really a great help for us, it has a big difference when it comes to salary and services compared to being in a corporate world here in the Philippines. It doubles the income on a weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis. It supports my family in giving me a convenient life, investments and leisure. We manage to invest in logistics and transport services because of being a freelancer.
We also manage to go somewhere we’ve never been before every time we have special occasions to celebrate. We can go to different places and restaurants that we want. We can say that we can afford those things that were a dream before. We can afford to buy things without looking at the price tags, without computing the total bill before going to the counter, and eating the foods we really want without hesitation if our money will be enough or not.
My goal for every client I handle is to give my best and go the extra mile for them. Making sure that I deliver the result promptly and efficiently, working even when no one is monitoring me, as I should know my responsibilities. I imagine myself as one of the owners of the company while I am working with them as my way to be a successful contractor and freelancer to my clients.
I am also seeking for a dayshift job for me to have more time for my family. I have been working for almost 10 years on a night shift that’s why I also want to experience a day shift career.
I am still working on up-skilling and aiming to grow my career along the way as I gain more experiences, knowledge, and skills to be a better me.
