Joann Pearl Pacaña – Digital Marketing
Hi, I am Joann Pearl Pacaña and you can call me Pearl. I am a wife and mother of 3 wonderful girls. I graduated with a degree in Human Resource Management and Development from the University of San Jose Recoletos in Cebu, Philippines.
I have 10 years of solid experience in the BPO industry which developed essential skills such as team management, project management, performance coaching, communication coaching, quality analyst, research, reports presentation and employee engagement events in charge.
I started out working as a customer care representative for a US telco company, dealing with technical customer concerns, sales and billing. After four years of rendering exceptional customer service, I was promoted to a communication coach handling a class of 15-25 agents and helped monitor and improve the communication skills of phone and chat representatives. I was then promoted to a Unit Manager after a year, handling 12-25 direct reports wearing multiple hats as a performance coach, communication coach, quality analyst, employee engagement POC, project manager, and reports analyst.
I retired from the BPO scene back in December 2019 so I can spend more time with my girls concerned that they are growing too fast and it felt like I needed a lot of catching up to do. Fortunately, the freelancing industry embraced me with open arms and sent clients my way whom their trust I have earned — even became friends with some, keeping in contact despite being overseas.
It was no surprise that it didn’t take long for me to be able to adjust to the new environment since adaptability and flexibility are two of my strong core traits. I built my experience through client support, CRM maintenance, documents management, project management, survey cold calling, appointment setting, transaction processing, web content creation, graphic design, ESL teaching, research and data entry skills, lead generation, podcast production, and social media management marketing. I learn fast and can cross function within the company. I can work well alone or with a team. I always extend help to my colleagues whenever possible and always aim for an efficient transfer of knowledge. It has always been fulfilling for me to set a great work environment and work culture for the team. I am goal-oriented, an excellent problem solver, keen attention to detail, resourceful, diligent in my work and equipped with multiple sets of skills and knowledge which makes me an outstanding Virtual Assistant.
I AM PART-OWNER OF THE CLIENTS’ BUSINESS. This has always been my mindset every time a new client is being introduced to me because that will make me function with ease considering that you will always take care of your own possession no matter what. Encountering a roadblock along the way is also something that will always excite me because it means another opportunity to improve on our processes and work outlook.
I am fortunate enough to have joined the growing workforce of the freelancing scene even before the pandemic hit as I was able to spend time with my family and still provide for our needs and with that, I am forever grateful to my previous mentors turned friends and aim to create the same impact to others who are planning to go full throttle on their VA journey.
My credentials may seem like a long list of valuables but I always aim to learn every day and make sure that I am open to feedback and criticisms because this will help me grow as a person and as an employee/business partner.
Wait, did I say long list? Wait for it. During my free time, I play football, do yoga, go on long drives, lounge at the beach, hone my musical skills by playing the guitar and ukulele, read self-improvement and fiction books, spend quality time with my girls by playing online games or chess, am a TikToker, play with makeup and enhance my knowledge about skincare and coffee — coffee is life. All these while making sure to drink plenty of water for enough hydration.
