Joshua Burgos – Customer Support in IT
Hi – I’m Joshua… and this is my story…
Being the eldest son, I was taught to look after my siblings and to always be a role model for them. I was always the one expected to act as the ‘parent’ and take care of the family when my parents were not around. Taking responsibility, being in charge of situations, and caring for my younger siblings was instilled in me right from the start.
And looking back and seeing myself now, I can say that those traits are quite possibly the strongest attributes I have. They may also have been the biggest factor as to why my chosen degree and profession involves helping people!
Really, when you think about it, working in the BPO industry or as a Virtual Staff member is similar to what I was trained for as a child…
I grew up dealing with people, hearing out and helping to alleviate frustrations, showing people the brighter side of things, and ensuring that their needs have been attended to – even before my own!
Being a Virtual Assistant involves collaborating with clients and team members, listening to problems and finding the solutions, focusing on the positive and being pro-active, and doing whatever I can to support those I work with.
So, it’s a familiar place!
I will admit, it can be a little frustrating or challenging at times… but at the end of the day, it is fulfilling. Really – I guess you could say, it feels like home! 🙂
