Kent Advincula – Customer Service Representative

Kent-Advincula-vaI am Kent Jay Tablazon Advincula and you can call me Ken or Kent. I was born on the 28th day of December the Holy Innocent Day where most of the kids born on that day are named innocencio. Thanks to my parents for not doing that to me. (lol)

I am a Bachelor’s Degree graduate of Business Administration major in Marketing Management at Notre Dame of Dadiangas University. I am the 3rd son of my parents. My dad worked before as a barangay councilor in our hometown, but when I was 9 years old, he passed away due to lung cancer. My mom took the responsibility of being the breadwinner of the family. She went abroad to work as an OFW in Saudi Arabia. She’s been working there for 13 years now. She managed to send the 4 of us to school up until we finished college. My eldest brother is a graduate of Marine Transportation, the second one is a Hotel and Restaurant Management graduate and our youngest is a Customs Administrations graduate.

I studied for 7 years, from 2010 – 2017. While I was studying, I was also working in a fast-food restaurant in General Santos City. Because of this, I needed to manage my time in school and work. Being in the situation will help you be more responsible in your actions especially managing both work and studies and I thank God I made it. When I reached my 4th year in college, I needed to stop working because I had to focus on my thesis and gratefully I did have my Bachelors Degree.

Kent-Advincula-vaAfter I graduated, I worked as an Office Admin in an Australian Qualifications company where I go to Universities and Review Centers to partner with them about having exchange students in Australia and vice versa. After working there, I discovered the opportunities I can have in the BPO industry such as enhancing my communication skills.

September 2017 was the start of my journey working in BPO companies. This really helped me to overcome my weaknesses and enhance my strengths. I experienced being an agent for customer service for travel, telecommunications company for billing and sales, customer service for a home warranty, pre-sales agent for life insurance, and an appointment setter for a footcare company. I also experienced working in operations as a Retention Coach, Quality Analyst, and Refresher Trainer. Working in a BPO is like a roller coaster because yes you are trained and prepared to what to do, but being in the moment will test your mental and your willingness to help. That’s an everyday battle you need to overcome. Considering those things as an opportunity will help you to be better every day.

If I will have the opportunity to work with you, I will make sure to use the learnings that I have to provide satisfaction. I may not be the smartest but I have the perseverance, determination, and hard work to successfully achieve my goals.
