Kim Cortezano – Travel Virtual Assistant
Growing up, I have always been a naturally curious and resourceful person. I loved learning new things, whether it was through books, hands-on experience, or simply observing how things worked. These qualities have shaped my journey into becoming a virtual assistant, even before I fully realized that this career path was meant for me.
My professional journey began in the BPO industry as a customer service representative, where I handled calls and assisted customers with their inquiries. Though I was only in the role for a few months due to my studies, it taught me valuable skills in communication, problem-solving, and patience—qualities that have helped me in every role I’ve had since.
After completing my education, I worked as an office clerk in the Local Government of Narra. This role gave me firsthand experience in administrative tasks such as data entry, email management, scheduling meetings, and assisting clients. It was here that I truly honed my organizational skills and learned the importance of attention to detail. I loved the structure and purpose of my work, knowing that I was contributing to something meaningful.
Later on, I took on a role as a virtual assistant, which was a new and exciting challenge for me. Although I didn’t have a strong background in virtual assistance at the time, my experience in administrative work and customer service allowed me to quickly adapt. I learned to navigate different online tools, manage schedules remotely, and communicate effectively with clients from different industries. However, after six months, I was laid off.
Despite the setback, I remained optimistic. I knew that my skills were valuable, and I was determined to continue growing in this field. While looking for opportunities, I helped in a relative’s travel agency, assisted in managing tasks, and supported clients. Though it didn’t pay much, I appreciated the experience and the chance to continue honing my abilities.
Beyond my professional life, I take pride in being someone who takes care of rescued animals and supports my younger brother’s education. These responsibilities have taught me resilience, patience, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively—qualities that are essential in being a successful virtual assistant.
Now, as I seek new opportunities in the virtual assistance industry, I bring with me years of experience in administrative work, customer service, and client support. I am eager to contribute my skills to a team that values reliability, professionalism, and dedication. I may have faced challenges along the way, but each one has only strengthened my commitment to growth and excellence.
I believe that being a virtual assistant is more than just completing tasks; it’s about being a dependable partner to clients, someone they can trust to make their work easier and more efficient. I am excited about the opportunity to prove myself and to be part of a team where I can continue to grow and make a meaningful impact.
