Kimberly Velez – Customer Service Representative

Good day everyone, I am Kimberly Mangali Velez. My close friends call me Kimie. I’m a 43-year-old single mother to 2 lads. My eldest is 22 and a graduating IT college student, while my youngest is 16 and currently in Grade 11. I studied AB Communication Arts in college. Hoping that I will be the next most popular broadcast journalist someday.

I remember landing my first ever job as a cashier at the #1 fast-food chain here in the Philippines. I have learned to interact with different types of customers day in and day out. Then I had an opportunity to get a job in the BPO sector. I also gained sufficient experience in intensive customer service skills from the fields of Ridesharing services, financial accounts, vacation rental platforms and a telecommunications company. I got a chance to assist customers worldwide and now I consider myself as a professional multitasker. Additionally, my flexibility in working on-site and remotely means that I can easily adapt to different environments.

Being a single mom is not an easy job at all. Now that they are both growing so fast, I wanted to settle in working at home, so I can still spend the remaining days that we are still under the same roof. I know that time will come that it’s time for them to spread their wing to reach their own dreams. Outside of work, you’ll often find me in coffee shops around the area and spending time with my boys. Over the years, I’ve realised that life is too short, and that’s why I wanted to create new memories in exchange for the lost times during the nights that I’m not with them.

Transitioning to freelancing is very challenging. Been looking for potential clients and doing self-studying since March of this year. As I rest for 2 months to think things over. I have a well-organised station set up in my room which is good for remote work during day or night shifts. It is a quiet space which is suitable for working and it is free from distractions. I also have reliable high-speed internet, a noise-cancelling headset and a comfortable chair which will help me manage workloads effectively.

Now, what I need is someone who will give me a chance to show what I’ve got. I’m all about building genuine connections and providing 100% customer service both for work and in life. I believe that when you go on extra mile to ensure the best possible outcomes for everyone involved.
