Kirk Beltran – Customer Support Representative

kirk-jason-beltran-vaHi, My name is Kirk. I am 35 years old and I am single. I have 7 years of experience in the Call Center Industry starting from 2013. My hobbies are playing computer games and surfing the internet and I am also skilled in baking. I graduated Bachelor of Science major in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Centro Escolar University in Malolos Bulacan in April 2008.

I was unemployed for 9 months when the Enhanced Community Quarantine was enforced in an effort to combat the Outbreak of the Corona Virus. Despite that, I made an effort to apply for a position that will allow me to work from my home. Applying for a position is a challenge as it takes me several days or weeks before I receive a call from the company where I submitted my application. Other challenges include companies requiring applicants to work onsite as they don’t offer work from home options and companies requiring a higher internet connection.

As a Chat support agent, my task is to handle two different customers at the same time. It was a challenge since you have to respond to both customers at the same time and the customers are different from each other in terms of their needs. In addition, I have also handled email support for an online retailing company where I needed to respond to customer’s requests such as tracking orders that they have not yet received, as well as crediting them for a discount that came after they had already placed an order. Handling different customers can be challenging due to them having different attitudes.

kirk-jason-beltran-vaI have also handled a back-office order processing account where we receive orders that need to be processed. We apply details such as discounts and promo codes and we ensure that every single detail is accurate and we apply notations, in any case, the details cannot be added.

When the Quarantines were enforced in an effort to combat the virus outbreak, travel to Metro Manila was a challenge and I was having difficulties in getting myself hired online due to a large number of applicants so I decided to try freelancing so that I can still earn while working from home.

Freelancing is not that easy considering that I will need to sell my skills to my potential employers, but I am hoping that I can secure a job that will allow me to earn while working from the comfort of my home.
