Llela Torredes – Virtual Assistant, Social Media Manager, Graphic Designer

Hi! I’m Llela, but you can call me Le! I’m a 23-year-old woman, living independently with my two adorable cats, Lilia and Geo, in a dorm from Cebu City.

My journey as a virtual assistant began after years of juggling different businesses. When I was 14, I started selling goods here and there. By the time I was 20, I decided to take my business seriously. I sold hundreds of items (junk food, viand, and other snacks) at school and even got the chance to showcase my products at business school events and partnered with a Cafe of the student council. But when the pandemic hit, I had to look for ways on how I can continue this journey. That’s when I transitioned my business to an online shop. I did my research and basically ordered bales of second-hand clothes, sold them online, handled inquiries, managed deliveries, took photos, edited them, did laundry, and packed everything — all by myself. It was a lot of work, and eventually, I burned out. That’s when I discovered the world of virtual assistance, which I found while scrolling through social media. It was the perfect fit for my skills, so I joined an agency and have been working in this field ever since.

Did I mention I’ve been living independently since I was 20 and supporting my siblings? I’ve done all this while pursuing my nursing degree, which I’ve now completed and now a registered nurse in the Philippines! What sets me apart from others is my work ethic. I’m incredibly hardworking, versatile, and determined. I’m committed to helping my clients succeed while also pushing forward with my own goals.

Also, here are other interesting things about me. I love dancing and badminton! These were my top sports before but I’m currently going to the gym, which makes me feel good and confident. I don’t have one dream, but I have MULTIPLE DREAMS. I wanted to be a businesswoman, a nurse anesthesiologist, a volunteer for medical missions, travel around the world and bring my siblings a better life. I have a fear of heights, definitely I don’t like worms, and my pet peeve is messy spaces. I don’t rush myself in keeping up with the trends and I don’t care if I don’t have a big circle of friends. I’m the type of person who appreciates my own company, loves my own peace, and doesn’t seek my validation and worth from others because I, myself, is aware of my worth already. Now, I’m personally learning on how to set strict boundaries in order not to burn myself out. About my family, my father is now 49 years old and retired, while my mom is 47 years old and working in Singapore as a sales agent. She’s been working there for 15 years which results in her developing a condition called deep vein thrombosis, so I’m doing my best to help my mom. I’m the 2nd child out of 4 children from my parents. I have an older brother who’s also working, a younger sister and a younger brother who will be in college next year.

Overall, life has been good to me despite the challenges. I’ve learned a lot of skills and values at this age, and I’m eager to see where the next chapter takes me.
