Hello, my name is Madeleine Mae Sarmiento and you can call me Maddy for short. I’m a single mother and always passionate about taking care of my family and finding ways to balance my work and life. I’m an undergraduate in Civil Engineering at the Marinduque State College in the Philippines. I’ve spent over 5 years working as a customer service and sales specialist in the call centre industry.
Working from home was never something that I imagined but as life changed, so did my career path. It all started after I ran and managed my online shop when I realised how much I enjoyed the flexibility and fulfilment of working remotely.
My journey as a Virtual Assistant started when I began managing social media accounts for a training agency. It felt like a natural transition from my customer service experience, where I had developed the skills to communicate effectively and understand the needs of clients. I expanded my expertise into lead generation, CRM management, and administrative support, including email handling and calendar management. Each role helped me grow, learn new tools, and become more confident in managing various aspects of a business.
What I love most about this journey is the ability to adapt and cross-function within different teams, whether it’s sales, marketing, or operations. I take pride in being detail-oriented, goal-driven, and always willing to go the extra mile. My experience in sales taught me the importance of building relationships, and as a Virtual Assistant, I aim to provide seamless support to my clients, helping them grow their businesses.
Working from home has allowed me to not only provide for my family but also spend quality time with them. It’s a work-life balance that I value deeply. As I continue to grow in this career, I am excited to learn new skills and further develop my capabilities to support my clients and achieve both professional and personal success.
