Maria Angelica Rose Carreon – General Virtual Assistant
Hello everyone, My name is Maria Angelica Rose Carreon, and I’m excited to tell you a little about my journey as a professional and what has shaped me into who I am today.
I learned to start as a private tutor while still in school, tutoring students one-on-one on their studies. It was the very first job experience that taught me so much adaptability and patience. Every student had a unique way of learning, and I had to find the best way to help them understand difficult topics. Seeing their confidence grow as they improved was incredibly fulfilling, and it gave me a solid foundation in personalising instruction and problem-solving.
After completing my degree and passing the licensure exam, I began teaching English Language Arts to secondary school students. This included lesson plan development to monitoring progress. More than the content, though, it’s a place where the environment can be nurtured to support this motivation to succeed for the students. It’s here that I honed my communications skills, learned how to prioritise tasks to get more things done within the same amount of time, and cultivated some very good organisational skills. All of these help me no matter what role I’m in.
Then, I shifted into the position of Business Manager at a bakery. In that role, I managed from day-to-day operations to customer service, marketing, and even some work on installing online ordering systems. It’s great fun running a team with quick problem solving in a busy environment, as I really got to see a sense of reward as our efficiencies and customer satisfactions improved. I also developed technical skills, working with tools like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace in addition to the social media side to streamline and increase the bakery’s visibility.
Most recently, I’ve been working as a book review writer. This has made it possible to integrate my love for literature and my research skills and writing talent. It’s a great means of staying creative and further developing the attention to detail, as it allows me to write thoughtful, comprehensive reviews of each book, as well as develop analytical thinking, as I break down all the themes and characters in relation to the entire impact of a book.
Looking back, I’m proud of the skills I’ve developed along the way—problem-solving, leadership, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. One thing that has been crucial throughout my career is my ability to adapt to new tools and systems quickly, and that’s something I’m especially excited to bring to a virtual assistant role.
I’m really looking forward to applying all these experiences and skills to support your team in the best possible way. Be it managing some of the administrative tasks, supporting the customer service efforts, or simply diving into a creative project, I am prepared to make an impact. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
