Maria Cristina Francisco-Berja – Account Specialist
Hi, I’m Maria Cristina Francisco-Berja. Please call me “Trixie”.
Just to tell you a little bit of background about me. I was 16 years old when I first decided to find a job to help my parents. During that time, my mum talked to me and told me that they can no longer help me finish my studies and that I needed to stop studying. It was heartbreaking and I lost hope that I will ever finish my studies… or so I thought.
Two years ago, I got lucky enough to pass the scholarship given by Jollibee Foods Corp. This gave me the chance to work and study at the same time. I was happy and always excited to go to school and reach my dreams to finish my college degree. I continued my studies taking up Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management.
I worked as a service crew in the morning and then attended class in the afternoon. Every Tuesday and Thursday night, I also worked part time as a lead vocalist in our acoustic band. My daily routine was always like that. Busy in work, school and the band. I’ve learned how to be responsible and work hard to achieve my dreams. All the sleepless nights and hardships paid off as I finally finished my college degree.
I experienced working as a talent artist in a movie production. I also entered the sales industry where I worked as a sales agent in WI-TRIBE. I have learned to make quotations, prepare orders, and do telemarketing or cold calling. I also learned how to canvass and negotiate with suppliers.
In 2017, I got a job offer in Dubai with my husband. I had high hopes that this was going to be the breakthrough I was waiting for, but fate took a detour. I went there with a tourist visa, got hired, but was not granted a working visa. We didn’t have any other choice but to go back home to the Philippines in 2018.
We were back to zero and started from the scratch. I wanted to grow more, to learn more, to excel more and to finish what I had started and leave a legacy in everything that I do. Even though I’m just a newbie in the Freelancing Industry, I did not stop trying and pursuing my dreams. Singing is my passion, but being in service to those who are in need also gives me pleasure.
At present, I am a full-time housewife and a part time event planner while taking care of my husband and our 2 dogs. I’m focused on finding the right client for me to start my new path as a Virtual Assistant. I want to pursue my online career. I want to have flexible timeframes, be more productive each day while at home, and be with my family and loved ones when they need me.
Time is gold. I’m a product of hard work and perseverance. Nothing is easy, you work hard for what you want. I am hoping and looking forward to assisting you and to be your online help.
Thanks for reading my story,
Trixie at your service 🙂
