Marie Noelle Munalem – Civil Engineer
“Time is your most precious gift because you only have a set amount of it. You can make more money, but you can’t make more time. When you give someone your time, you are giving them a portion of your life that you’ll never get back. Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.” Rick Warren, The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here for?
Hours wasted on long commutes stuck in traffic jam…
Toxic work environment…
Disappointing Office Culture…
Monotonous 8 to 5 job…
… These are the common reasons that encouraged me to switch to a home-based job.
Hi! I’m Marie.
A new mum. An Engineer. A Friend. And maybe your next Virtual Assistant!
When I got separated from my previous employer in January 2020 with Rick Warren’s quote in mind, I decided to try and look for opportunities of working home-based.
As a mum, I would like to spend as much time with my son. I have this plan that by working at home, time wasted from long commutes is eliminated. I could save four hours and spend this time with my son, if not earn something out of it while working. Working online gives you more freedom and leverages your time. Somehow, there is empowerment in working on your own, as you have to do and learn things by yourself (with the aid of Google!).
I admit that I’m a mere beginner in this freelancing home-based industry; but this does not stop me from wanting to become the next best VA out there. I have an appetite for growth, and a passion for learning.
As a background: I am a Civil Engineering graduate. I was a Supply Chain Buyer for a global EPC company. Fast-paced, high pressure environments because of tight schedules is something I’m used to. I’m equipped with analytical skills, proficient and efficient with MS Office, SAP, and DMS Coreworx.
With a bit of creativity, I am a Canva user and have a bit of skills for Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I am proactive, reliable, and quick to learn. I am not shy of dreaming to become the next best VA.
As a new decade starts, in this new journey of mine, I’m looking forward to meeting new people and finding new challenges. My wish is to grow and collect learning experiences, in the comfort of my home, and in reach of my son.
Now, enough about me. Tell me about you, and how I can be of service.
