Overview
Mary Francine Manansala – Fraud Analyst, Customer Service Representative
Hello! My name is Mary and I have been working since I turned 18 years old. I have been in the customer service industry for 3 years now. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology but rest assured that this will not get in the way of my work.
In my leisure time, I love exploring new technologies and I explore current news and internet trends, which keeps me updated. I also love watching movies and one of my favorite movies is Ender’s Game. What I love about it is how it highlights the importance of strategic thinking, diligence and leadership—qualities that I really connect with and try to bring into my own work.
So I started working due to my free time when the pandemic hit the world. I just graduated from senior high school at that time and decided not to pursue my degree yet. With that, I started to apply in BPO companies and fortunately, I got into the first one I applied for. My first job was as a billing specialist in an online video conferencing account which became the foundation for all of my skills in customer care. After that, I was transferred to another department, Fraud and Risk, on the same account which helped me possess administrative skills. I met a lot of people there since BPO is a diverse industry, this experience of mine helped me gain confidence in applying and venturing into the VA world.
I think my most notable accomplishment is rather personal: I successfully purchased my own laptop and have embraced living independently. This milestone reflects my commitment to personal growth and my determination to strive for excellence in all aspects of my life, including my career. I’m motivated by the opportunity to learn and grow. I believe that continuous learning not only enhances my skills but also keeps me engaged and excited about my work.
Of course, being a VA is not easy especially since the industry is now saturated and very harsh to newbies, like me. But I did not let the constant rejections and disappointments consume me. Now that I am living independently, I am more eager to pursue this line of work. I believe that I can learn a lot from this type of work which will help me grow to be a better version of myself. This type of work has its own pros and cons but I believe that the pros outweigh the cons, I just need to believe and be determined if I want to flourish in this industry.
