Nicko Indren Rosario – Social Media Manager, Virtual Assistant
Hi, I’m Nicko Indren Rosario, a proud husband and father of one. My journey into remote work began during the 2021 pandemic, a time when many of us were forced to reevaluate how we approach our careers and family life. Before I transitioned to working from home, I spent four years in the BPO industry, steadily advancing to the role of lead support, where I specialised in loyalty tech and customer service. It was a demanding role, but one that taught me invaluable lessons about adaptability, problem-solving, and thriving in fast-paced environments. I gained experience in multiple niches and learned how to tackle challenges head on! while delivering results.
Then, when the world changed during the pandemic, I saw an opportunity to transition from the traditional office setup to remote work. It wasn’t an easy decision at first, leaving behind the familiarity of an office job came with uncertainties and unknowns. However, I knew it would allow me to strike a better balance between my professional life and my family responsibilities. With a young child at home, the flexibility of working remotely became not just an option, but a necessity for me to be more involved in their life.
Since making the leap, I haven’t looked back. Working from home has allowed me to play a more active role in my child’s ups and downs. I can be there for school activities, help with homework, and even cheer them on during martial arts training. These moments are priceless, and the ability to be present while continuing to provide for my family has been the most rewarding part of my journey. It’s something I value deeply—being able to show my support and be involved in my child’s development in ways that I couldn’t before.
Professionally, the transition to remote work has been just as fulfilling. The skills I developed in the BPO industry—communication, leadership, and multi-tasking—translated seamlessly into my new role. I’ve been able to take on diverse tasks, expand my expertise, and continue to deliver high-quality support to clients, no matter where I’m working from. The flexibility of remote work has also allowed me to grow personally and professionally. I’m always learning new things, whether it’s new technologies, techniques, or strategies to improve workflow, and I’m eager to apply them to both my career and life.
Working from home has been a true game-changer for me. It’s provided me with the best of both worlds—career fulfilment and the ability to give my family the time and attention they deserve. As I move forward, I’m committed to further honing my skills, taking on new challenges, and continuing to be there for my family every step of the way.
