Niñover Torrichiva – General Virtual Assistant, Customer Service Representative
Hi, I’m Niñover, but you can call me Revo. My experience of working from home has been characterised by several challenges, learning experiences, and development. I never imagined that I would be working from home prior to this; however, the unpredictability of life has forced me to accept these changes with resilience.
I started college life studying Secondary Education, but was forced to leave college in search of employment due to financial issues. I have grown up with a certain level of independence, whereby I could be able to look after myself and work towards having a secure life. I have been independent since being a teenager, capable of taking care of myself and working toward a secure future.
My professional experience began as a Junior Credit Advisor for HC Consumer Finance Philippines Inc. My days were spent on the phone with delinquent customers, negotiating payments and explaining their financial problems in a professional yet sympathetic manner. This helped me learn how to handle people, think on my feet to resolve problems and establish trust with customers. Then I shifted to The Daykeeper, Inc. as the Head of Logistics. My task there was to fulfil orders placed online via Shopify, ensuring everything was fine, and shipping was hassle-free. That actually developed my organisational skills and provided me with my first e-commerce experience, which later proved to be a turning point in my career.
After my experience working at The Daykeeper, Inc., I did actually work as a Customer Service Rep at iQor PH for Walmart.com. I was answering calls, processing customers’ orders, and addressing concerns they had. I learned how to work around other tools, such as Avaya when it came to call handling and the Walmart account website, which I was interacting with third-party sellers and correcting account issues on. Then, I transitioned to remote work as an AI Trainer Virtual Assistant at Hi Auto. My responsibility in this role was processing customers’ orders via AI-based systems so that everything was smooth without any problem and got acquainted with any system update as soon as possible.
Working from home has saved my life and has enabled me to achieve a spectacular work-life balance, and my skills have also been enhanced. I’m a big believer in getting it right, owning work, and doing the best that I can.
In the future, I see myself climbing up the corporate ladder in e-commerce, building solid client relationships, and continuing learning new things as I grow.
