Roan Romelica Aranas – General Virtual Assistant

roan-aranas-vaHi, I am Roan Romelica Aranas; you can call me Roan. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Management from Batangas State University. I am the eldest daughter in my family, which is why two days after graduating, I began working for a local company in my province. A year later, I moved to Metro Manila, hoping the city would offer me greater opportunities—and it did. I spent seven years in the BPO industry as a billing and accounts payable specialist, which shaped me into a dependable and efficient professional in the field. My experience as a BPO employee enhanced not only my technical skills but also highlighted the importance of collaboration and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.

When the pandemic hit, I saw the benefits of working from home. Despite some doubts, I had a strong belief in myself and made the transition to full-time freelancing. Since then, I’ve worked directly with over 10 global clients on both long- and short-term projects as a general virtual assistant and as a billing specialist. I’d like to think that my years of experience in the BPO industry made it easy for me to land direct clients, so I am forever grateful for that.

As a freelance VA, my primary goal is to support entrepreneurs and professionals in streamlining their processes so they can focus more on what truly matters—bringing their best work and product ideas into the world. Working with diverse clients for almost five years has been a constant source of inspiration because I learn so much from them, and their drive for success is something that I aspire to for myself as well.

roan-aranas-vaWhen I clock out of work, I’m a creative soul who loves reading books and writing stories. I’ve been working on the first draft of my novel, which I have been carrying in my mind and heart for years, and now I’m taking steps to finally bring it to life. If you ask about my favourite books, they are The Mistborn Series by Brandon Sanderson and City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau—these are books that inspire me to be creative in my storytelling and writing. If I’m not brainstorming ideas for my stories, I am experimenting with recipes in the kitchen and spending time with my family on weekends. My ultimate dream is to combine my love for books and food by opening a small café with a bookstore.

Every day, I try my best to make meaningful steps towards building the future I want for myself, and I am grateful for the job I have right now and for the trust that my clients and colleagues place in me to get things done and make an impact. I believe that the most important qualities of a virtual assistant are reliability, dependability, integrity, resilience, and adaptability. Drawing from my personal experiences and work background, I am confident in my ability to embody these traits and deliver positive and impactful results.
