Ronnel Cabante – Customer Sales Representative

Ronnel-Cabante-vaI started my first job being a pin boy in a bowling alley near our home when I was 10 years old. That job was not about putting food on our table but it was out of curiosity and peer pressure. At a very young age, I already knew how to appreciate hard work and hard earn money because of that job. I’m proud to say that it was the foundation of my career.

Fast forward. I was a working student back in the university. I studied Business Administration Major in Marketing Management. I was always fascinated by print ads, billboards, and store signages. I always think about how on earth that huge kind of printing was made. So I applied as a graphic designer and a machine operator in an advertising agency in Davao even though I don’t have the experience yet and luckily I was hired. From then, I practice every single day to be able to know the basics and extreme skills of a graphic designer. I also used to work and finished the assignments of my classmates just to generate money and pay for my tuition. Being a working student helped me see the perspective of how should my life and career should go.

After college, I practiced my degree and I got hired by Davao Packaging Corporation as Marketing and Logistics staff. But it did not last long because I just felt that a corporate setting was not for me. So I resigned and applied as a customer service representative in Teleperformance Philippines Davao.

Ronnel-Cabante-vaThere, I enjoyed my stay and met new friends. But eventually, our account was closed because of financial issues. I had to leave because other opportunities were knocking on my door.

But then the pandemic came and it was very frustrating. I eventually lost my job and had to stay at home. But God is so good. I found a company that helped me mold my skills and expertise in digital marketing.

Most especially my skills in graphic design and video editing. There, I was able to enhance and know a lot more about the digital space. But again the undesirable circumstances happened. I was one of the 50 plus employees who got terminated because of the organizational restructuring.

Things have not gone right for the last couple of years but I am a very optimistic person and I know everything will be alright. I know that the Virtual Assistant Team will be there to help individuals like me to have clients that will give us the opportunity to showcase our skills.

God is Good.
