Ruzil Salubre – General Virtual Assistant, Content Creator

ruzil-salubre-vaHi, I’m Ruzil Salubre, but you can call me Sel. I’m a proud wife and mother of two—a daughter and a son. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, majoring in Business Administration, from Father Saturnino Urios University in Mindanao, my hometown. As an only child, of a single mother, I worked part-time while studying to help ease our financial problem and build a foundation for a better future. My professional journey began in my hometown as an Admin Assistant but soon led me to Metro Manila in search of greater opportunities. In my second company, I experienced significant growth, earning a promotion for my dedication and performance. However, a reassignment to another location led me to resign and seek other opportunities. I then joined a company that is managed by Japanese nationals, specialising in importing and exporting of goods. This role exposed me to international business practices and enhanced my organisational and administrative skills. Unfortunately, in 2014, health issues required me to focus on recovery, prompting me to discontinue my contract with them. After recovering from surgery, I tried my luck into entrepreneurship, starting my own online business. Initially, it thrived, with around fifteen or more resellers helping to grow the business. However, the pandemic came, and it freezes everything. I then started to edit videos for social media platforms and up to this day I am still engaging in video editing and content creation for my YouTube Channel and other social media websites. With a strong background in administrative support within the corporate sector, I’m now gradually transforming in the virtual industry. To upskill myself, I recently enrolled in virtual trainings for general virtual assistants. This training has ruzil-salubre-vabroadened my understanding of the role and equipped me with the tools needed to excel in this new field.
