Shelley Grace I. Catadman – Administrative Assistant
I am Shelley Grace Catadman. I’m a Christian, a wife and a mother of one. I am also a daughter of loving and supportive parents, and the third among five siblings. I am blessed to belong to a closely-knit family, who looks after each other and takes care of one another.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology but I never really had the opportunity to practice it (no regrets though). After graduation, I took some time off to spend time with my parents at home. Barely a year later, I got my first job in a private corporation. I spent almost six years in the leasing and financing of vehicles and equipment. I was then connected with the finance department during my tenure there. My second and recent employer was with a Government-owned and controlled corporation that provided national health insurance for Filipinos. I spent a good 19 years with the corporation.
I loved my job but I needed to make myself available to my family who needs me more. After some hard introspection, I reached the decision to reprioritise and to try to venture into online freelancing opportunities.
Being at home now, my interests revolve around taking care of our home including our two dogs (Wrinkles, our old precious pug, and our very pregnant beagle, Chloe). I also like watching movies or TV series and reading books. I also love being outdoors whether spending time on the beach with my family circle or else just having leisure walks with my husband and for the sake of cardio. 🙂
Having been exposed to my previous jobs in both private and government corporations gives me an edge in being familiar with different skills, one of which is in Data Entry. Being Data Entry proficient, I have performed the following tasks:
- Preparing and sorting of documents
- Resolving discrepancies in information and obtaining further information for incomplete documents
- Responding to information requests from members and employers
- Using database systems and testing system software updates of the corporation
- Data scraping and data management
Another skill that I have gained is rendering Customer Service to clients. As such, I have performed the following tasks:
- Enrollment and registration of new members and employers
- Catering to requests for amendment of member or employer records
- Verification of member and employer data with regards to membership, contributions, and claims
- Cashiering service
Other tasks involved the correspondence to members and employers, consolidation of monthly collection reports.
I am also computer literate and familiar with computer programs such as MS Office. I can work with minimal supervision and I am a good team-player. I have good interpersonal skills and also open to more training opportunities and growth in the future.
Most of my co-workers whom I’ve worked with over the years regard me as friendly, sincere, considerate and cooperative.
It is my hope that as I pursue a Virtual Assistant career, I will be able to find a balance between work and family life. As I make myself available to my family, it is my fervent hope to be able to deliver and cater to your needs as well. 🙂
