Thomas Garfield Ingalls – Digital Marketing and Virtual Assistant
I was born in the year of 1994, 17th day of January in a small Brgy. in Looc Malabuyoc Cebu. My mother and father are not very religious, but my grandparents are. I grew up with my grandparents. They raised me like their son and grew up with them, actively participating in the Church. I have developed the qualities of being optimistic, accept criticism as an opportunity, aim high, perform all things diligently, and loyalty.
With the attributes I have developed at Church and experienced working in McDonalds as a service crew member for almost two years while studying, I came to have a better understanding of the word, the value of hard work and benefits of teamwork. It was fun working at McDonalds, but I needed to quit to take my Internship as a production associate in Author solutions for 9 months.
Author Solutions gave me a glimpse of the corporate world and made me realise that learning is a never-ending process. I have developed my skills in using Microsoft application, especially in Excel and become keen on details.
After my Internship, I worked as a freelancer for almost a year while preparing to serve a missionary of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For 2 years, I preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ that requires us to develop skills in public speaking, building relationship, and trust with people. Listening has also played a significant role during my service to show real concern for people’s salvation and was called to perform various leadership positions to watch over at least 16 fellow missionaries, ensuring that they were performing to the fullest of their potential at all times. My goal was not merely to supervise or motivate but to lift, inspire, bless, and encourage.
Digital Marketing Lead Specialist was my 1st position after my missionary service. I was responsible for all online inquiries in three different car brands. I was responsible for keeping a clean track of each inquiry or transaction on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. My job as a DMLS was great, but an unhealthy work environment and imbalance life/work lifestyle triggered me to find a career, not just a job.
That’s how I ended up working as an office-based Virtual Assistant. It builds my experience with general admin tasks such as General Research, data mining, email organisation, team coordination, schedule management, and word processing. I manage / build WordPress and Shopify sites, manage social media using Hootsuite, and manage CRM (Ontraport, ActiveCampaign, and MailChimp). I automate and create email campaigns, build landing pages in Ontrapages, ClickFunnels, Instapage, and LeadPages. I also work with system integration and implementation using Zapier and other integration tools. I am also equipped with basic social media image creation using Canva, Photoshop, and AfterEffects.
I am excited to bring a non-stop, can-do attitude and being innovative. As I became an asset to my previous client and employer, I am planning to do the same for my next employer. I have experienced success and I have also experienced failure. I learned from this experience. I learn from my failures and don’t let failures cause me to doubt myself. My motto is: don’t run from challenging projects or failures – face them boldly and humbly, and thrive.
