Veronica De Vera – Administrative Assistant

veronica-de-vera-vaHi! My name is Veronica De Vera, a loving mother of a 2-year-old baby girl and an ever supportive wife.

I have 9 years of work experience in a corporate setting providing all sorts of administrative assistance– assisting the Department Head in managing their calendar, coordinate and schedule meetings, assisting the team members in day-to-day tasks, creatives admin, events assistance, monitoring the progress from planning, pre/post-event.

When I became a mother, I decided that I needed more work-life balance so I began applying for homebased jobs in order to stay home with my daughter. I have been working remotely for a year now as a Virtual Assistant, providing the same and trying to wear all kinds of hats to fulfill my duties and contribute to the betterment of the organization.

In that span of one year, I have learned and gained a lot of skills. One of them is doing HR admin tasks, such as job posting on LinkedIn and shortlisting and conducting the initial interviews, and payroll preparation and management. I embrace all new tasks assigned to me because I’m always eager to learn new things.

I have experience in using Google Calendar, Zoom, Skype, and/or Google Meet, and I am also familiar with Acuity. In managing projects and tasks, I have learned to use Monday.com, Trello, Slack, and in the traditional way, I do know how to create a checklist in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. I have also learned to navigate on Kajabi for uploading course requirements such as audios, videos, workbooks, and sending email reminders. In connection with that, I have learned to create simple graphic designs using Canva for workbooks, typography, and ads design. I also learned accounts payable management and payroll preparation and management.

veronica-de-vera-vaWorking from home was the setup I didn’t imagine I needed for a very long time. Becoming a VA allowed me to finally make that happen! It also allows me to work and develop my strengths and skills. And as we all know, working on our strengths and skills is so much more fulfilling, it helps me improve faster, and enables me to be the best that I can be. As I gained more experience in my employment as a virtual assistant, I was given opportunity after opportunity to craft my expertise.

I’m dedicated, approachable, accessible, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. My goal is to always listen to people about what they need to do their jobs. In my current role, I’ve been able to motivate my teams to meet and surpass day-to-day expectations. When I started working remotely as a Virtual Assistant, I managed to create and draft the organization’s SOPs workflow processes which are very important because the client is looking for our document to better understand the company and how the team works. I have also managed to create memos and HR Manual & Employee Handbook.

In addition, I always try to help and assist in any way possible. I am an extremely determined person. No matter what, I will push through limitations and adversity to try and have the desired result.

During my free time, I love to create and plan travel itineraries, be it for beach or for mountain climbing. Because my husband and I really love nature trips pre-COVID times. I am always like THE starter and planner in our group because that’s how I kind of make myself look forward to something.

Thank you for considering me and reading my simple story. I’m really looking forward to working with you soon!
