Jovhen Yuzon – Software Engineer

After graduating in 2017, I immediately looked for a job. Unfortunately, my job hunt was halted because I needed to look after my mother, who had fallen ill. Fortunately, she recovered, and in 2018, I landed my first job as an IT Staff in Sanmiguel Corp. In this role, I handled various responsibilities, including IT finance works, and maintaining and creating efficient systems to improve the IT infrastructure. I enjoyed the challenges and the opportunity to contribute to the company’s technological advancement.

After three years, I decided to find a different role as a software engineer at Accenture. Although the role was different, I managed to adapt to it with my strong and flexible attitude. I embraced new technologies and methodologies and worked collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality solutions to the clients. However, a year later, my mother fell ill again, and this time it was worse. I made the difficult decision to find another job because I was not able to sustain my role at Accenture, which required onsite work. I couldn’t manage that because, in addition to working, I needed to take care of my mother, and I could only do that if I were working from home.

During my third job, I managed and maintained the pre-existing application and participated in making changes to improve the application while coordinating with the team and the client. Juggling both working and taking care of my mother was challenging, but I was determined to excel in both areas. I worked diligently and efficiently to ensure that I fulfilled my professional responsibilities while being there for my mother during her time of need.

After that, I took a break for a few months to focus on my mother’s recovery and well-being. Now, I am in the process of seeking a new venture to expand my career. I am eager to find a role that not only allows me to utilise my technical skills but also provides the flexibility to balance my professional and personal commitments. I am confident that my diverse experiences and strong work ethic have prepared me to take on new challenges and make valuable contributions to a new organisation.

Throughout my professional journey, I have encountered various obstacles, but I have always maintained a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. I am adaptable and quick to learn, and I believe that my experiences have equipped me with the skills necessary to excel in a new role. I am excited about the prospect of contributing to a new organisation and am ready to bring my passion and dedication to the table.
