Lawrence T. Dejacto – Social Media Manager

Hi! I am Lawrence T. Dejacto; you can call me Rence. I am currently enrolled in a highly prestigious university in our city, seeking to have a degree in Education. At a very young age, my eyes where opened by the harsh reality that we don’t belong in the higher echelon. But that didn’t stop me to dream. My dreams where the one who made me work harder. Despite being young, I tried different gigs, opening small business to sustain my needs. I did all those things, and it was exhausting.

Then I entered college and met this professor; he was not just an educator but also a virtual assistant and financial advisor. And by sheer luck, he offered me an opportunity to work in and outside the campus. He let me do his task with his clients. The tasks mainly focuses on uploading in their Google Business Profile with an approach to improve their website so that search engines in Google are more likely to show their business in users’ search results. He was such an inspiration to me and that is why I am following his path.

Aside from this, I was also an active youth leader in different communities whether it is for science educators or in our Christian community. One of the highlight of this participation is being a social media manager of a growing Facebook page for the young people of my hometown. I am only a volunteer, but I put a dedication to this work as this is one of my forte. I am really into Page Branding, Graphic Design or basically anything that handles a social media page.

With both experiences, this helped me acquire skills important as a virtual assistant. Skills like communication for effective transfer of tasks, time management to be on track with deadlines with a hectic schedule, attention to detail to ensure quality in different projects, and so forth. Furthermore, it gave me an opportunity to learn different apps and website that is essential, like Asana, Google Business Profile, Google Sheets and Docs, Meta Business Suite, and more. And I did all of the just in my home. Working from home help me juggle my work, organisation, and school.

But with all of those things I achieved, I still believe that there is a room for me to improve. As they all say, change is the only constant in the world. And I am always open to it for my own growth.
