Lovely Mendaros – Supply Chain Management Associate, Procurement Operations Analyst

Hi, I am Lovely Mendaros, 32 years old, a wife and a mother of one. I graduated from University of San Jose-Recoletos with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Accounting. I have also completed a Diploma Program for Supply Chain Management. I started my career journey as a Sales Admin Assistant in a mutual fund company. During my stint in the company, I handled customer service and provided assistance to Marketing team.

When I moved to Isuzu, I got my first hand experience of working in the automotive industry. With Isuzu, I was able to practice what I had learned from my undergraduate degree in management accounting as I handled billing and finance. Afterwards, I decided to embrace a bigger role as an Accounting Officer in the travel and tourism industry. I was in charge of Accounting and Finance in the company. In this new role, I was able to harness my accounting knowledge and financial skills as well as problem-solving, critical and analytical thinking. However, because of the company’s operational challenges, I was compelled to seek for a new job. I was hired by Chevrolet to join their accounting team under collection and billing.

I believe in continuous growth and learning, so I took the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills in the real estate industry this time. I joined AboitizLand wherein I handled office administration and procurement of goods and services. Then, the pandemic happened and unfortunately, I am one of those employees who have been laid off.

It was a blessing in disguise because I became a full-time mom to my son who has a medical condition. Then, an opportunity came after almost a year. It was my first work-at-home experience in a multinational company. It was a bit difficult since my team and I could only meet virtually. When the company required us to work hybrid, I had no choice but to leave the organization and find a fully remote work setup. In no time, I was hired by a telecommunications infrastructure company which was affiliated to my previous company. I was handling procurement and had the opportunity to enhance my knowledge about procurement, warehousing and logistics. After some time, when my son’s medical condition became worse, I left my job so I could focus on him.

Now that he is stable, I am excited to embark on a new chapter in my career journey hopefully with the Virtual Assistant Team.
