Overview
Maribeth Pangilinan – Paraplanner
I fell in-love with working from home almost a decade ago. When I thought being a housewife would no longer give me an interesting career, a work from home set-up gave me the opportunity to grow and at the same time look after my then, three baby boys. The challenge was how I could do both alone since my husband is working overseas. With great faith from the Lord above and a little bit of confidence from myself, I managed to get hired and enjoyed this new career stage.
Working from home allowed me to have a great work and life balance since I met employers that understand what it is like to be a mum and a career woman. There was never an issue about asking for leave or excuse myself because I had to run an errand. The responsibility of being an employee and a mother is something I have learned to enjoy. I got to witness every milestone of my boys and never missed any occasion to celebrate with them. I developed my multi-tasking skills on a higher level since it is natural skill in every women. 🙂 Plus I had the chance to learn new things, skills and became brave enough to try something new.
The Financial Services Industry opened up its doors for me. Understanding how financial knowledge helps the Australian citizen made me aware of how important it is to my current and future life. Slowly learning how these businesses work, the urge to be a financial stability advocate grew within me. I valued every pay I received but made sure I got to spend it also on the things that make me happy. Whenever given the opportunity, I share financial literacy with my friends or family, elaborating how practicing financial discipline affects one’s life. It has also been one of my desires to encourage mums to try working from home, not only for monetary benefits, but also as another way to grow and up-skill.
Truly, life is full of constant change, but we always have the choice to change it into something better or make it worse than before. We can also make our lives a blessing to others for them to achieve the change they desire, because how beautiful it is to have a life shared with someone to make theirs better. We can grow wherever we are – we just have to create an opportunity for ourselves and for others.
