Myryl Tamayo – Customer Service
Hello. My name is Myryl Tamayo, a residence of San Pablo City, Laguna. I took up Bachelors of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), but I was unable to finish my studies because my father got sick, and eventually passed away.
But life must go on. I needed to find work for a living to support my brother and mother. I started working at the age of 18 at premier semiconductor assembly and test services company in Amkor Technology Philippines Inc. I worked with the company for 19 years. I held various positions such as data encoder, quality control inspector and production team leader during my stay with the company. While I’m still employed in the company, I also had a part-time job as an online marketing specialist and doing networking business online.
Over the years, I only gave 100% dedication, loyalty, hard work and perseverance through my work. I now have my own family. I then decided to look for another job to support my family’s growing needs. That’s when I landed my first job in the BPO industry as a Customer Service Representative.
During my journey in my BPO career, I supported accounts such as Health Insurance, HVAC appointment setting, billing specialist for Comcast, Retention Specialist for SIRIUS XM and the most recently with AT&T as a Billing Specialist. I relocated to the nearest site/office due to the distance from our home. I only get to see my four kids during rest days.
I’m earning more but the struggle of being away with my family most of the time really saddened me. I missed most of the important events and milestones in their lives such as birthdays, school activities/programs, and Christmas because we are still required to work on holidays. Then I asked a friend about home-based jobs as I heard great feedback and saw success of those who work from home.
I can only guarantee employers that I can share all the traits and values I earned during my years experience in the corporate world.
