Rosamae Bacalla – Social Media Manager

Social Media VA Rosamae BacallaMy name is Rosamae, or you can call me Sam.

I was born into a family with 9 other siblings, and I was one of the 5 girls. My father taught us that we should always strive to be the best we could be, and that meant excelling in everything we do – be it academics and work. My father developed his skills in AutoCAD and 3D animation from his diligent self study of books and videos on YouTube, despite him not being a High School graduate.

I was 16 when my mum passed to the other side of the veil. We thought my father went back to work abroad only to find out he was missing after leaving us – his 10 children – with only 10 thousand pesos to fill our tummies. 🙁 That left me with the only choice of working to provide for myself and support our poor family. Life was so hard at that time. But it was also a great time to develop not only life skills, but also attributes.

Inspired by my father’s passion to learn, I sought free trainings like finishing courses for call center agents which led me to a BPO career afterwards. I sat side by side with some friends who work from home and tried to understand and learn about their tasks. Those trainings helped me on my path to the BPO industry. I was hired as a chat representative, product lister and product operations researcher where I also learned about SEO.

I am grateful for every hardship that I went through because I was able to develop skills I would never learn if I was raised in a comfortable life. I wouldn’t have the drive to go beyond my limits if I had an easy life. I wouldn’t have finished almost 2 years of missionary volunteer service if my hard life hadn’t taught me to be diligent. I wouldn’t be married to the love of my life if I wasn’t patient enough to wait for 4 years while making sure I exist in his life. I wouldn’t be as strong as I am right now if it wasn’t for every bad thing that happened to me.

Right now, I’m in the happiest state. Our father is back, I have a supportive and wonderful husband, and I am part of an amazing team. I always believe that the optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. I have been living with that belief since day 1. Life is not meant to be easy, that also applies to work. But if you choose to be optimistic, you will always find opportunity to grow in every hardship.

Thank you for reading my story.

If you make me a part of your team, you have my assurance that I will be a blessing and not a burden to you. I will give you my complete and sincere commitment that I will deliver efficiently and make your work life easier.
