April Cortes – Technical Support Engineer, Customer Service Representative

Hi, I am April Cortes. My friends usually call me Epok, Pok, or Pokie. I am a single mother of two lovely boys, and they are my biggest motivation in life. Being a mother has shaped me into the person I am today—strong, resilient, and always striving to be better. Working from home has been a life changer for me because it allows me to be with my kids 24/7 and watch them grow. The flexibility of remote work has given me the opportunity to balance my professional and personal responsibilities without missing out on my children’s milestones.

I started working as a call centre agent back in 2014, adjusting to a paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle. At the time, I had to learn how to manage my finances wisely while ensuring that I could provide for my children’s needs. Later on, I got an opportunity to work abroad as a retail sales consultant. I grabbed the opportunity, thinking that it would help me and my kids achieve a better future.

Professionally, I have over six years of experience as a customer service representative, where I developed strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. In my previous roles, I interacted with customers from different backgrounds, handled inquiries, and resolved concerns efficiently. I have always enjoyed helping people and ensuring that they receive the best possible service. Aside from customer service, I have also undergone basic bookkeeping training to expand my skill set.

As a single mother, I have learned how to multitask and stay organised. My experience has taught me patience, resilience, and the importance of time management.

I am always open to new opportunities that will allow me to apply my skills, grow professionally, and contribute to a team. With my background in customer service, technical support, and bookkeeping, I am confident that I can excel in any role that challenges me to improve and make a difference.
