Billy Jean Ross N. Quan – Customer Service Specialist
My name is Billy Jean Ross Quan. 🙂
I am 36 years of age and I am the fifth among seven siblings. I am a father of three, one girl and three boys aged six, five, and four respectively. When my first child was born, I realised that I can’t have my parents help me out financially all of the time. This motivated me to work hard not just to achieve my dreams, but most importantly, to be able to provide a home for my growing family.
However, life doesn’t always turn out the way we planned it! Having children of my own taught me to be strong and to be positive regardless of the issues and problems that may come. At present, I am living with my partner with our children here in Baguio City, Philippines.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my children and surfing the internet. I also play online games, be it MMORPG or Strategy games as this helps me relax and clear out the toxicity of everyday work. One of the things I enjoy doing during my spare time is trekking and going to the mountains to have a breath of fresh air and I find it a very nice way to relax the body and the mind.
I have been working in the BPO industry for more than 10 years. I started as a Technical Support Representative in 2006 for an Internet service provider. We assisted customers in basic and advanced troubleshooting Internet-related concerns. After working as a TSR for three years, I moved to Metro Manila to work for one of the biggest network technology providers as a Pre Sales Engineer. I was assisting network engineers in configuration, network set-up compatibility concerns for their industry routers, switches, and IP phones.
Working for the past ten years in the BPO industry has taught me a lot of things. One of the teachings that stuck with me is that you can never teach someone who is not willing to learn, but you can show and teach a lot to someone who’s eager to learn.
There is still a lot to know and to learn but, with continuous eagerness to learn and reassessment of my skills and abilities, I am sure I will be able to meet the high demands.
The phrase that I live by the most is “There is no constant thing in this world except change.”
