Cerelina Cagang – Bookkeeping, Xero, Quickbooks

Hi, I am Cerelina Cagang, you can call me Ceren. I am a full-time mom of 3 kids and a wife. I graduated with a degree in Business Administration major in Management. I’ve learned so much being an independent and persistent person.

I started my journey as an employee in local corporate industries working as a Teller, Data Encoder, Accounting Staff, and Auditor. In every role within the department, collaborating with your teammates, to accomplish our duties and responsibilities. I am truly an honored to be part of it within the Accounting and Finance department.

I chose to become a full-time mom. From 2015 to 2022, I’ve made myself busy. I took another source of income by starting a side hustle business, which is managing a boarding house, a vending machine (PISOWIFI), and a franchised Milkshake but it didn’t progress in the 3rd business. Although I’ve failed and learned as a Sole Proprietorship with zero knowledge in that kind of business, it wasn’t an easy job. But I’m a risk-taker person and I’m happy about it. My motto is “STOP WISHING, START DOING”. In my mind, at least I’d tried but I know it’s not the end of my journey.

In 2019, I tried an online course for Quickbooks in which I earned my certification. The Pandemic came and Odette typhoon hit central Visayas, that’s why I ended up not applying for a job. This year, I came back to the online world. I am eager to gain more knowledge. I’d choose this journey to continue. I have my previous job, which is similar to this role.

I took up an online course in Australian bookkeeping wherein training and internship gave me more confidence to handle those accounts. During the internship, I realised you must have a passion and time management for this. We have weekly tasks to submit and the team leader to check our outputs. If there was an error, we did it again and again until we move forward to the next level. Finally, I’ve got my certification for Australian Bookkeeping and Xero Advisor and Payroll. I am confident and knowledgeable in handling and processing Xero software for account receivables, account payables, bank reconciliation, payroll run, inventory management, ITR preparation, BAS, IAS, and financial reports.

As an aspiring Virtual Assistant, I am committed and passionate about this role. It motivates me to sharpen my analytical ability. And I invest in reliable and potential skills. Skills can be trained and developed and a good positive attitude pushes you for a long-term success. I never stop learning and chasing my dream. In every failure and rejection, drives me into redirection.
