Denise Chato – Digital Media Specialist

Hi there, I’m Denise Chato, but you can just call me Denise. Since I was a kid, I’ve always dreamed of bustling around corporate corridors and being part of the big city work scene in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. That little Denise was over the moon at the thought of spending eight hours a day in a tall office building, giving it her all. But then, 2020 happened, and the world changed right before my eyes.

As everyone retreated indoors, I started seeing the vast possibilities that the digital world could offer. It was around this time that my sister introduced me to the world of virtual assistance. Watching her navigate through her work while still being there for her family completely shifted my perspective on work-life balance. I realized that my dream of working in an office was not lost—it just got a modern twist.

Filled with excitement, I jumped into the world of Virtual Assistance. And guess what? My background in Communications turned out to be a huge asset.

Communication is the heart and soul of being a Virtual Assistant. It’s what keeps remote teamwork ticking smoothly. With my knack for conveying ideas clearly through emails, chats, and video calls, I feel ready to take on this journey armed with clarity and brevity. Plus, my adaptability, tech skills, and natural sense of organization allow me to handle tasks with finesse, juggling schedules seamlessly.

Sure, I may not have loads of professional experience YET, but my time as a Social Media Coordinator at AFJC Phils and as a Corporate Communications Intern at UNESCO-APNIEVE Ph gave me a good head start. In those roles, I had the opportunity to work closely with my bosses, learning firsthand how to execute tasks efficiently and collaborate effectively within a team.

At AFJC Phils, I was entrusted with the responsibility of enhancing the organization’s social media presence. Working alongside my supervisor, I learned the ropes of content creation, audience engagement, and campaign management. Meanwhile, during my internship at UNESCO-APNIEVE Ph, I was immersed in the world of corporate communications. Under the guidance of my mentor, I delved into media content planning and development, social media copywriting, and event documentation. This hands-on experience allowed me to understand the layers of crafting messages for diverse audiences and coordinating efforts to achieve organizational objectives.

Through these experiences, I not only gained practical skills but also cultivated a deeper understanding of the dynamics of working closely with superiors. I learned how to effectively communicate ideas, seek feedback, and adapt to different working styles.
