Mary Joy Wisner – Accountancy Graduate and Public Administrator

Financial Management VA Mary Joy WisnerHi, my name is Mary Joy.

I grew up in the Southern part of the Philippines where there was no electricity and no hard surfaced roads. There was only dirt – and despite that, I have good childhood memories. 🙂

I come from a Christian family and am the eldest among 6 siblings. My parents weren’t able to finish college, so, their dream for all their children was to have a degree. So all 5 sisters (including me) have attended college and hold both BA’s and Masters Degrees.

My parents were farmers. On weekends or summer time, I and my brother would help alongside the hired farmhands. I also have my own small farm today. On my farm we grow vegetables and bananas – which my family manages for me.

As for my education, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in March 1999 at Cor Jesu College of Digos. I then decided to further my studies by earning my Masters in Public Administration specializing Fiscal Administration at the University of Southeastern Philippines, Obrero Campus, Davao City, graduating in April 2007.

I have several years working in a corporate setup from January 2002 through to August 2012. My biggest break was when a British owned BPO company initially hired me as an online recruitment assistant, then promoted me to Office / Finance Manager. This position lasted for five years. The Philippine based company finally closed its doors as the owner decided to run the business virtually. Fortunately, I was able to stay with the digital company online. Most of my tasks were still the same. My daily tasks included online executive assistance work and also human resource management. I worked with this British company for over 11 years.

I have also worked as a Virtual Assistant for a Canadian company for a gluten free membership website performing email customer support and other administrative tasks. I have also worked on some short term projects.

I am currently looking for a job online and am very eager to learn new skills or even polish some old ones.

I hope you will consider me as a person who could be a valuable asset to your company. 🙂
